Display/Simple Table does not support the the html.sort property, therefore the special UI features based on that property in Display/Table, is not available.
You could implement sorting on a simple table by adding buttons and/or other controls which will repopulate the table based on a new sort order.
Note that the simple table control is not meant to be feature rich, but rather a quick solution for instant display, and you'll probably discover that you use Display/Table instead, as you develop more complex applications. One limitation of the simple table that pops to mind immediately is the fact that you are limited to a simple text display, and cannot use other display elements such as a check box, input field, image, etc.
