Hi John,
I'd like first of all, to thank you for your feedback.
You've raised some important points, especially with regards to our version release procedure; your confusion regarding which is the stable version is justified.
We've decided to change the Download page, which will, from now on, include both stable and latest releases. Note that as far as studio installation kits are concerned (currently available for Windows and Debian Linux), we are not in the habit of building these for every version, so we will attempt to synchronize release of a new build with the latest stable release.
As far as updates of an existing Tersus installation are concerned, they never occur automatically. In the server version an update must be manually downloaded and installed, so production environments are safe.Development environments (i.e. the studio), makes use of the eclipse's auto-update feature, and while this greatly simplifies updating to the latest version, it still requires the developer to actively confirm the update to a specific version.
Regarding regression testing, we do have the basic building blocks for modeling tests in the platform itself - see the Testing category in the palette, and several templates in the Display Actions category. We have also committed to releasing a modeled framework for managing and executing tests. This is expected soon, so stay tuned.
Regards,
David
