Tersus Studio makes use of Eclipse's built-in software update mechanism, which queries the Tersus update site over the Internet, and provides a wizard to download and install the update.
We provide 2 update sites:
If you have configured the Tersus update site in the studio, but do not wish to configure automatic updates, you can perform a manual update as follows:
If no update is offered, you may need to do the following:
If you wish to update your studio, but have limited network connection, you can download an update archive and perform the actual update offline, as follows:
To check which version you are running, look in the version.txt file included in the server's installation.
Before updating the server to a new version, and especially when the server is a production one, you should first verify that all applications using the server are compatible with the new version (e.g. by checking them in an updated studio).
Once verified, do the following:
Note that the process above is a simplistic update assuming all applications installed under a specific Tomcat instance are using the same, single copy of the Tersus Server. In practice it is quiet possible for multiple applications, running under a single Tomcat instance, to be using separate copies or indeed versions of the Tersus Server, as configured in each application's context file. See the Tersus Server - Cross Platform page for more details.
