There might be an unintended confusion between the role property (which is actually the Element Name, appearing in the Rename dialog) and the Role in Role-Based User Authorization (Modules/Authorization module documentation) which is the basic authorization mechanism by which access control is implemented.
Gel All Permissions returns all permissions specified in the project, as explained here.
