Indeed we are talking about the same. I was in the perception of using an Image object in a Tag or Pane.
But your example gave the trick. I deleted the image object and added a <Style> which can be filled (from a database) like:
background-image: url('mybuttons.png'); background-position: -76px 0; width: 26px; height: 26px;
So no need of adding an extra CSS-class. I'm going to use it for the navigation row (see below)
