Tersus: RSS Demo

RSS DemoDate: Sep 30, 2013Tags:Demo,Video,XMLThis 6-minute demo shows how to create a mobile application that displays items in an RSS feed (The Long Now Blog).The application contains a title and a list of items.The items are populated in the application's initialization process, which works as follows

A server side process reads the RSS feed, and parses its XML

The item elements are sent to the client

In the client, each item is converted to a display element showing the title and description

Note that the demo was created using an old version of Tersus. Download here a newer model, created with version 2.1.8, which is different from the one shown in the demo in minor details only (specifically, the rss data structure template has been taken from the package "Common/Templates/Mobile/RSS List/XML", and not from the "RSS-XML" library as shown in the demo).
There is also a version using generic XML parsing (i.e. parsing that does not depend on previous knowledge of the output model, not using the rss data structure at all).
