I gather that you installed using the Windows installation kit, which includes a dedicated JRE (installed in the studio's jre subfolder).
This installation method ensures that, the studio will be able to run immediately, without having to ask the user to install a JRE separately.
It is not however a requirement, and the studio will work just as well if the dedicated JRE is removed, as long as another standalone, up-to-date, Sun JRE is available on your system.
To run the studio using a standalone JRE do the following:
