To be precise, it's not the model that is ignored, but rather a specific validation error in a specific element. The ignore setting's purpoise is to distinguish between new and old/known/verified-as-harmless validations, by setting the harmless ones to be ignored/hidden.
Since an element can contain multiple/different validation errors it cannot be ignored completely, and should be revalidated.
