When projects we implement ourselves require such capabilities, we prefer integrating modern, client-side charting libraries, providing a javascript API and a rich, interactive UI. Our favorite is flot (see http://code.google.com/p/flot/).Here's a demo project using flot:

Chart.tersus, and note the following:

The model makes use of 2 javascript calls (both functions are provided in web/graph.js).

tersus.drawGraph is called by Chart/View/Content/Init to load the graph.
tersus.updateGuides is called by Chart/View/Content/Flot/<On Click>, implementing an interactive cross-hair providing context sensitive data when clicking the graph.

The flot library itself is included in web/jquery.flot.js.
