Regarding the static box which appears regardless of whether an image is displayed:If you want the Image (or any other display element) to be rendered only if explicitly specified by a process flow, you can do so by setting the display element's alwaysCreate property to false (you can do so either via the context menu or via the properties view).Once alwaysCreate is false the element will not be rendered automatically, but only as a result of the element itself, a child element, or one of its attributes (such as Image's <SRC>) are set via flow.
Regarding your SD being deleted, was it a result of the installation or rather of using the camera?
