David, I have another problem in IE 8.0 about the Publish action.

When I'm learnning how to Publish-Subscribe in Shopping List Tutorials, I found that the IE browser aways gave an error and stuck from time to time.
So I built a simple demo to test the publish and subscribe, and I realised it seems the publish action cause error in IE when I continuous publish message and the interval is not long. But it runs smoothly when publish in other browsers (Firefox or Chrome) and subscribe & update in IE.
Did it cause of that " some browsers limit the number of concurrent connections to the same host" as you said at http://www.tersus.com/#Id=1409 ?
