The filtering option in the Table Wizard can be any of the following values, each of which affects both the <Header>'s From and To rows, and the generated SQL SELECT's WHERE clause.
I join Stefen's suggestion - try out the tutorial @ http://www.tersus.com/#Id=6344, which demonstrates this.
If you've tried this and it's not working as expected, you're welcome to create a demo, export it to a .tersus file (File>Export>Tersus>Tersus Export File) and attach it to a forum post.
Regarding a search popup ... well it's actually up to you, once the table wizard is done, it creates a model which you can change and add to as you wish. Just remember that extensive changes to the model will prevent the Apply Table Wizad option (available when right-clicking the root model created by the Table Wizard), from working - but will in no way prevent you from performing manual changes to the model.
