We've been wanting to create a self sufficient installation package which automates http://www.tersus.com/#Id=242, and also automates application deployment via some additional GUI (quiet possibly implemented using Tersus, and pre-installed with the server).
The main hurdle is as usual resources and priorities which seem to halt developments in this direction in favor of more urgent issues on our plate.
Being open-source, a logical workaround for this reality, is for someone in the community to go ahead, but no one as thus far stepped up.
