Can't follow from about page 30.Date: Jul 10, 2013This is a well known issue, which is partly caused by the underlying eclipse platform.While there are cases where it is bothersome, we have never encoutered a situation where you cannot workaround it.In your case, the workaround would be as follows:

In a model editor, find the display for which you want to create the ancestor reference

Right-click the display and select Show in Repository Explorer

In a model editor, find the action into which you want to add the ancestor reference (don't worry if you have to switch to another model editor tab, in which the display is not reachable by zooming out)

Drag the display from the Repository Explorer to the action

Right click the display data element you've just created, and select type > Parent

Note the blue frame indicating it is now a reference

The Add Ancestor Referemce option is just a shortcut for the above procedure.Regards,DavidSee Also:
