Regarding Split Pane, please attach a project demonstrating the different behaviors you describe, and let us know which browser you're using.
Regarding document security, we don't provide support for either features, sorry, but as far as PDF is concerned, see my suggestions @ http://www.tersus.com/#Id=6672.
