Tersus: Text Field

Text FieldDate: Apr 8, 2012Text Field is used to prompt the user to enter some text (compare with Number Field, Password Field, Selection Field and Text Area).Text Field contains the following elements:

<Value> - Set it to the initial value you want to display on screen. The user may modify it, and <Value> will then contain the modified value.

<Caption> - If exists, a label with the element's name (still under development - the ability to set a different caption) is displayed on screen just before the input field. On a narrow screen (e.g. an iPhone), the label appears in a separate line (see screenshot). On wider screens (e.g. iPad), the label appears in the same line.

<On Change> - An action performed when the value is changed (to add it, right click Text Field and select Add Element -> <On Change>).

Note that Text Field should be used only when the user may enter or edit the text. If the user is not expected to change the displayed text interactively ("read only" mode), use Text Display.
